Cornwall is sometimes wrongly portrayed as only being as a fair weather holiday destination, with its beautiful beaches, cliff top walks and pretty towns and villages…but that couldn’t be further from the truth. There is so much to see and do, come rain or shine.

At our holiday park near Newquay, we are blessed with a host of attractions that are tailor made for when the weather isn’t so kind. In fact, there’s as many wet weather attractions in Cornwall as there are things to do when the sun is actually shining (which is most of the time!).

Eden Project, – 23 miles from Treworgans
Arguably one of the most famous visitor attractions in the UK, which is so much more than just the biomes. Eden has grown into a magnificent educational facility and there’s entertainment galore all the year round for kids and adults alike, from kids’ workshops to live music concerts.

Newquay Zoo – 5 miles from Treworgans
Get close to more than 1,000 of the world’s rarest and most endangered animals at Newquay Zoo. Watch in amazement as the lions devour their lunch and then adventure into the Tropical House and meet some of the zoo’s more unusual residents, including a slow-moving hairy sloth!

Newquay’s Blue Reef Aquarium – 5 miles from Treworgans
Also in Newquay is the popular aquarium, which is well worth a visit. Here you can learn about all the fantastic creatures of the Atlantic Ocean, just off Cornwall’s shores as well seeing some exotic animals from tropical waters far away.

Pirate’s Quest, Newquay – 5 miles from Treworgans
Prepare to come face to face with some swashbucklin’ pirates! Meet mermaids, buccaneers and real life sea dogs! Ahaaa me arties! Fairly warned be thee, says I!

Trerice House, Newquay – 5 miles from Treworgans
Visit this beautiful Elizabethan manor house with its delightful gardens and interiors. This beautiful National Trust-owned property regularly has events running through the season, from Tudor banquets to Easter egg trails.

Crealy Adventure Park – 18 miles from Treworgans
If your idea of a great day out with the kids is to jump on some top rides then Crealy is for you! It’s a great family day out with a variety of rides for kids (and adults) of all ages. There’s also a heated indoor play area too.

Flambards Theme Park – 26 miles from Treworgans
Flambards is widely regarded as one of Cornwall’s best family attractions. This theme park has a host of different rides, including some great rollercoasters that are perfect for adrenaline junkies!

Paradise Park, Hayle – 24 miles from Treworgans
There’s plenty to see and do at Paradise Park, with over 650 species of birds, otters and even penguins. It’s a real family day out with gardens to explore and a café for a spot of lunch.

Heartlands, Redruth – miles from Treworgans
This free visitor attraction near Redruth centres around the area’s status as a World Heritage site. There’s exhibitions, climb-on sculptures, gardens, giant adventure playscape for kids and art and craft studios to explore.

Lanhydrock House, Bodmin – 27 miles from Treworgans

    Thanks for the post, there’s a whole heap of ideas here to keep people entertained in Cornwall whatever the weather! I think Cornwall is still generally blessed with milder weather year-round. Many of the outdoor activities on offer can still be enjoyed this time of year. But it is useful to have some back up ideas like these too!
